Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Piano Streak uses to provide practice tracking, reminders, scans, AI-assisted scan suggestions, recordings, Focus/App Lock, optional Backup & Restore with Sign in with Apple, support, and Pro access.
Information You Provide
- Practice information such as pieces, exercises, goals, sessions, streaks, notes, tempo, and progress.
- Optional wrap-up recordings that you create for self-review.
- Reminder settings, Focus/App Lock settings, and other preferences you choose in the app.
- If you choose Backup & Restore with Sign in with Apple, the Apple account identifier provided by Apple is used only to restore your Piano Streak data across your devices. Piano Streak does not request your Apple email address or name for this feature.
- Messages you send when you contact support.
Photos and Scans
If you use the camera or photo picker to scan a piece cover, title page, or related image, Piano Streak reads visible text on your device using Apple Vision OCR.
After the on-device text recognition step, you can choose whether to use AI suggestions for that scan. If you choose AI suggestions, only the recognized text is sent to our server and OpenAI to suggest a title, composer, and related metadata. The photo itself is not sent to OpenAI for this feature.
You can also continue with on-device text only. In either case, you can review and edit suggested fields before anything is saved.
Device Permissions
Piano Streak asks for permission only when a feature needs it. Microphone access is used for wrap-up recordings. Camera or photo library access is used for scans. Notifications are used for reminders. Screen Time controls are used for Focus/App Lock features.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases and Pro Access
If you purchase Pro access, purchase status is used to unlock paid features in the app. Purchases are handled through Apple's in-app purchase system and can be managed from your Apple account.
We do not receive your full payment card details.
How We Use Information
- To show your practice history, streaks, progress, pieces, and notes.
- To save and play back recordings you choose to create.
- To send reminders you enable and run Focus/App Lock sessions you start.
- To suggest piece metadata from recognized scan text.
- To restore your pieces, sessions, goals, and preferences across iPhones when you choose Backup & Restore with Sign in with Apple.
- To manage Pro access, maintain app functionality, and respond to support requests.
Storage and Service Providers
Piano Streak may store and process information using service providers that help operate the app, sync practice data, maintain purchase status, provide AI scan suggestions when you choose that option, and provide support.
These providers may include Apple for Sign in with Apple, Convex for app data sync, RevenueCat for subscription status, and OpenAI for AI-assisted scan metadata suggestions.
These providers are allowed to use information only as needed to provide services for Piano Streak.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
When you choose AI scan suggestions, recognized OCR text from the selected image is shared with OpenAI through our server only to generate the suggested piece metadata.
We may share information with service providers needed to run Piano Streak, to comply with law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the app.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app features you use, maintain records, resolve issues, and comply with legal obligations.
Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited time after deletion.
Your Choices
You can use Piano Streak without signing in. Backup & Restore with Sign in with Apple is optional and can be enabled from Settings.
You can delete pieces, sessions, notes, and recordings in the app where available. If you enabled Backup & Restore, you can delete your synced account/data from Settings. You can manage app permissions in iOS Settings and manage subscriptions from your Apple account.

Children
Piano Streak is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
